How to turn off your windows firewall.

There may be times when you need to turn off your firewall. This could be because it is interfering with you broadband connection or you may need to turn off the firewall to install some piece of software.

First click your start button (bottom left of your screen).
Then click on control panel.
If your control panel is in category view like the screen shot bellow then switch it to classic view by clicking switch to classic view on the top left of the page.

Next double click the network connections icon.
You should now see your LAN (local area network) icon as in the picture bellow.

Right click your LAN (local area network) icon and select properties from the bottom of the drop down menu.

Next click the Advanced tab at the top.
Then click on the Settings button.

Now click on the radio button next to Off (not recommended)
Then click the OK button.
That is how to turn off your windows firewall.
