How do i run SCAN DISK to speed up my computer

The Scan Disk program or Error Checking as it is otherwise known is automaticaly installed with microsoft windows. This program is designed to check the sectors of your hard drive and repair any that it finds.
By running the scan disk or Error Checking once every month will keep your computer hard disk in good working order.

Click on the start button.
Click on My Computer.
Next Right click you local disk. if you have more than one hard drive in you computer you need to right click the one with windows installed on it.

Next click Properties at the bottom of the dropdown menu.

Next click on the tools tab at the top of the hard drive prorerties window.

Next click on the Error Checking Button of the hard drive prorerties window.

You will be presented with this screen.
Next place a tick in both the boxes and click the start button.

you will now get a message stating that check disk could not be performed and do you want to schedule disk check to run when you next restart your computer. Click the Yes Button then restart your computer.
When your computer restarts scan disk will start running. You will not be able to use your computer at this time untill Scan Disk has completed. so grab a coffee and relax.
