
Look at the bottom right of your computer screen on the taskbar just left of the clock. Can you see lots of small icons.?
If so this could be one of the many reasons your computer is running slow.
Everyone one of those icons is a program currently running on your computer, and the more you have running the slower you computer
will perform.
So we need to stop the ones that we dont need. This is where msconfig comes in. By looking in msconfig we can identify the programs that are currently starting when your computer boots up and causing your computer to run slow.
Remember you will not be deleting any of these programs you are just stopping them at bootup.
All the programs we stop with msconfig will still be installed on your computer and available when you need them.
click on the start button.
Then click run.
then in the run box type msconfig and press ok
Then Click on the Startup tab
Now go through the list of programs with a tick next to them and uncheck each program you do no twant to start at bootup.
Be careful not to stop essential programs such as anti virus and other protection software you may have.

Next click Apply Then Ok You wil be asked to restart your computer.
When your computer restarts check on the taskbar to see how many programs you now have running.
