What is virtual memory or a page file .
Virtual memory or a page file is a part of your hard drive windows will use when your RAM (random access memory) is full
You can increase the size of your virtual memory or page file to help with your system performance.
But this is not the ideal situation. If you are getting a problem with your virtual memory then your computer system
really needs more RAM (random access memory).
You would be better buying more RAM (random access memory) than just Increasing the size of your virtual memory.
First right click my computer icon on your desk top.
If you dont have a my computer icon on your desk top find it by clicking the start button, its on the right at the top
of that menu.
Next click properties from the drop down menu of my computer.
You should now be looking at the following screen
Click on the Advanced Tab on the right hand side.
You should now be looking at the following screen
Click on the Settings Button.
You should now be looking at the following screen
Click on the Advanced Tab.
You should now be looking at the following screen
Click on the Change Button.
You should now be looking at the following screen
You have a few choices you can make here to increase your windows virtual memory
You can change your virtual memory using the custom size
Or you can set your virtual memory size to be managed by your computer system.
It would be best to let your system manage your virtual memory.
By selecting this method if your computer needs more
virtual memory then it will just take more.
So make sure the radio button (thats the green dot) is next to System managed size then click on the Set Button then click ok
